Alright, the last couple of weeks, I've been watching for the first time some random, new-in-Canada (and some that aren't new) shows on Teletoon's (Cartoon Network's) The Detour (Adult Swim), so I shall give them ratings with no explanation for my choice.

Robot Chicken: A
The Venture Bros.: A
Squidbillies: B+
Harvey Birdman: A
Space Ghost Coast to Coast: B
Tom Goes to the Mayor: B-
Stroker and Hoop: C-
Sons of Butcher: A-

Alright, I shall explain a bit. TVB, RC, and HBAAL are all great (though the second episode of TVB didn't stand maintain the level of awesomeness the first one I saw did. Squidbillies is kinda weird, but I like it. SGCTC I didn't like the first time I watched it, but it was a little better the second time. TGTTM is just weird... especially the animation... and every episode, he goes to the Mayor and introduces himself... but it's okay. Stroker and Hoop, I watched a third of an episode, and decided I didn't like it. SOB has been in Canada forever, but I just watched it for the first time. It was fun-ee...

I saw these two-second "ads" for "12 oz. Mouse", and based on the fact that there was a green mouse made up of ovals, that looked like it was drawn on MS Paint, I wanted to watch it! It looks like one of them poorly-animated half-length shows that Adult Swim specialises in, and I enjoy....

I also have a new favourite episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force... It's the one where Shake has his "e-helmet"... The gag at the end gave me one of them rare falling on the floor laughing moments. Also, ATHF, compared to my other ratings, is an A+.

I wanna see more of the pixely villains on ATHF. I've never seen an episode all about them. Their mini appearances make me wanna laugh, but they're gone to quick.

New Ratings:

Aqua Teen Hunger Force: A+
Robot Chicken: A
The Venture Bros.: A++
Squidbillies: B+
Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law: A
Space Ghost Coast to Coast: B+
Tom Goes to the Mayor: C+
Stroker and Hoop: B-
Sons of Butcher: B-
12 Oz. Mouse: B

I watched 12 Oz. Mouse last week. It was good. The line at the end was great... It was something along the lines of: "So instead of taking my client to his new job, you took him to a porno shoot, blew him up, robbed a bank, got drunk, barfed on a woman, sang to a police officer, and then crashed a plane into a building."

QUOTE
This thread is devoted to the [adult swim] shows of the past such as "Space Ghost Coast to Coast", "The Brak Show", and other great shows of the sort...

Are any of the shows we've been discussing actually considered "Old Skool"?

QUOTE
the Brak show is like a sitcom.....

That's been in Canada as long as Aqua Teen, but I never actually watched it... Since the newer shows have arrived, I don't know what time it's on...

QUOTE
also.... I am gonna buy all of the Space Ghost Dvds with Holiday Money....

Did that actually happen? Here in Canada, the 2-disc sets are almost 40 dollars which is a total rip-off...

QUOTE
I have the first season of Robot Chicken on dvd...

Really? Cool...

QUOTE
also... you guys know the short clips are supossed to be channel surfing right? ...

Really? Cool... I never really noticed that before...

QUOTE
space ghost only gets a b? sad.gif

It's growing on me...

QUOTE
God I really don't like that show very much...

I went to PEEL recently, and found that I'm not alone... It's thread is staying high on the list... Nurdbot says the second season is better... Damnit, when will it come to Canada?!

I split up the adult swim topic, because every show deserves it's own thread, no matter how little anyone cares... The posts that didn't really fit anywhere else got stuck here in the 12oz mouse topic, so... yeah...

I figured I'd make this topic, so I used some of them varied posts in the 12oz mouse thread to start it...

New new [as] ratings:
Aqua Teen Hunger Force: A (New episodes airing. infosphere/smile.gif Handbananna was good...)
Robot Chicken: B+ (New episodes airing. 'Bout time, I was getting pretty sick of the old ones...)
The Venture Bros.: A++ (New episodes finally airing. Mothaf***in' awesome!)
Squidbillies: C (Same six episodes over and over *barf*)
Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law: A (Good show. infosphere/smile.gif )
Space Ghost Coast to Coast: A- (He has the uncanny abilty to get well-known celebrities on, and then ignore them completely. infosphere/smile.gif )
Tom Goes to the Mayor: C+ (Only one episode --the premiere-- was particularily good.)
Stroker and Hoop: B (Pretty funny if you give it a chance... It's in repeats now though.)
The Boondocks: B- (Some episodes I love, some I hate, and others... meh...)
12 Oz. Mouse: C+ (Stupid, and in repeats now... Stupid in a funny way though.)

I think the board should be named [adult swim] board. And I would never talk in it.

QUOTE (me... in the wrong thread)
Squidbillies is finally in new episodes here...

For birdman I can't tell the difference between new and not seen before...

Tom GTTM is new now too...

anyways... what about sitcoms... like Seinfeld or newsradio or the drew carrey show etc... Speaking of Drew, Whose Line? was a great show... haven't seen it in a while though...

Great... this board is hella confuzzlin' now.

I just watched a show about this guy who had this brain fugue named David Fitzpatrick. He lost his whole emotional memory.

oh... a brain fugue is a brain freeze...
I like sitcoms. One of my stupid dreams is to some day be the executive producer of an unsuccessful to mildly successful sitcom. sigh. that'll always be the dream.
now about general tv related discussion... should we talk about tv shows that are long finished and that we've been enjoying on dvd? (or would it be better to have another topic for tv on dvd?) because my we got Lois and Clark the New Adventures of Superman. I loved that when it was on tv soooo long ago. its weird seeing it again. the first season of that... pure entertainment.
also I highly recommend to anyone Roswell. Finished 2000 and something. I think there were some rumours of there possibly being a movie made. But its highly unlikely I think. That was such an awesome show.
also I was thinking a while ago i wanted to have a thread about sitcoms but i didnt want to make one.

I used to watch the New Adventures of Superman when I was young. It's on ITV3 sometimes as well. I heart that show. :3

cool. that show is so old. it feels like it from a different life time all together.

I just remembered, you know what else is an awesome show that I miss? of course you don't, that was a rhetorical question. But the answer is Early Edition. I love it. Its not on dvd though. :'( Did any of you watch that?

I was afraid of that. but I never know... i can't believe you've actually seen Lois and Clark. Anyway, highly recommended watching: Early Edition.
